Lim Bang Inn (Bukit Brown)

Lim Bang Inn was a student in Anglo Chinese School. He went on to Hong Kong University to study and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Second Class Honors in 1918 and later came back to become a manager of Lim & Seah, Civil Engineers, Surveyors and Architects, located at 92 Robinson Road (2nd floor). Lim Bang Inn was granted a license to practice as a surveyor in Singapore in 1919. Appraisers' licenses have granted to Lim Bang Inn and Seah Eck Jim in May 1923. 

Lim Bang Inn passed away on 3 February 1926 at the age of 32.

Property purchase

Lim Bang Inn bought a freehold building land off Bukit Timah Road, 29,239 sq ft  property at 6 cents per sq ft for a total of $1,754. 34. Other than that, there is no further details i found about him.



Business Partner  of Lim and Seah

Lim Bang Inn business partner was likely Seah Eck Jim. Seah Eck Jim was a local pioneer architect that went on to do well. It was mentioned in a newspaper article dated 1937 that he was the architect of the new premises of Sze Hai Tong Banking and Insurance Co. Ltd, a 4 storey building costing $180,000 at the junction of Chulia and Philip Street. Seah Eck Jim met an untimely death when in 1 February 1968 (then a retired architect) died when he killed by a car that was dangerously driving too closely to the left side of the road at the 3 1/2 mile at Bukit Brown. Mr. Seah Eck Jim was standing on the side of the road when the car strike him.
